Pennsylvania, 1985. Jun Takehara lives a quiet life in a trailer deep in the Appalachians. Her only real connection is Felton, an old veteran and close friend of her recently deceased father. Having promised to look out for Jun, Felton has become something of a grandfather figure to her.

During a hunting trip Jun stumbles on a wounded little girl in a secluded part of the woods. The girl has no memory of who she is or how she got there. With no way to call for help and no transport, Jun brings her back to the trailer and tends to her wounds. Minutes later, two suspicious policemen arrive — and Jun and Felton are pulled into “a nightmare of unspeakable horrors”.

Goldren Creek is the “eerie town” Jun’s search for help leads to. The store text says what she uncovers “in the town’s depths” will change her life forever. The announcement coverage frames the whole game as story- and lore-driven: the Steam page promises 28 characters “each with their own story connected to the larger mystery”, and every note you find or room you explore adds detail to Goldren Creek’s secret.
